Etymology: - Hoffmann Dial. 1, 103 considers reading κάθυδροι `the filled with water' or κάθυδοι `id.' (from ὕδος, vgl. ὑδαλέος). On -ι- for -υ- cf. Μετίδριον = Μεθύδριον, cf. Thurneysen Glotta 12, 146. S. κηθίς.
